This exhibition aims to present a diversified range of avant-garde magazines, original editions and re-editions, from the Serralves Foundation Library’s Artist Publications and Books Collection. Most of the selected titles represent or make reference to twentieth century artistic movements.
Commercial magazines from this period are not however included within the exhibition, given that they typically reflect the art market and are no longer of any interest for art appreciators or collectors.
Several of the titles from these series are coveted by collectors and museums and therefore re-editions have been produced.
