URBAN IMAGINARIES IN LATIN AMERICA: FILES

Some cities seem to be perfectly drawn in an image, a story or a discourse. For example, we have the Paris described by a heterodox Marxist like Walter Benjamin in the Arcades Project; the Paris interpenetrated by the drift of the situationists; but also the Paris which is awaiting its discourse after the fires in the banlieues. In The Imaginary Institution of Society Cornelius Castoriadis invited us to work materially, with our hands, on a field, the social imaginary, which has been traditionally neglected, abandoned to the administration of the different powers.
